Vincenzo Fesi

Vincenzo Fesi è un artista, ballerino, insegnante, coreografo, MC e direttore artistico, tra le figure più riconosciute e apprezzate della scena internazionale jazz e swing. Nato a Como e romano d’adozione, da oltre vent’anni porta lo swing sui palcoscenici e nelle scuole di tutto il mondo, con una missione precisa: far crescere la cultura swing e trasmetterne l’anima alle nuove generazioni.

La sua ricerca abbraccia il Lindy Hop, il Balboa, il Solo Jazz, il Tip Tap e gli altri stili della danza jazz, e nel corso della sua carriera lo ha portato a conquistare numerosi titoli nazionali e internazionali. Fra questi una Coppa del Mondo, un Campionato Europeo, il Campionato Americano per Professionisti.

Vincenzo si esibisce e insegna nei più importanti festival da Melbourne a Parigi, da Londra a Seoul.

A Roma ha fondato Swing Dream Factory, molto più di una scuola di danza: un laboratorio culturale dedicato alla diffusione quotidiana della cultura jazz e swing.

Vincenzo ha sviluppato, attraverso anni di esperienza, una didattica personale, inclusiva e profondamente umana. Il suo metodo parte dall’idea che ogni ballerino sia unico: in classe nessuno è un numero. Vincenzo lavora per coinvolgere tutti, valorizzare le diverse capacità e creare un ambiente in cui ogni allievo possa sentirsi parte della comunità, imparare con consapevolezza e trovare la propria identità nella danza, dal primo passo fino al livello professionale.

È ideatore e direttore di Jam Factory, festival internazionale che trasforma Roma in un punto di riferimento mondiale per lo jazz ballato e suonato. Ha fondato, diretto e prodotto Swing Crash Festival, l’evento che  ha influenzato il modo di concepire e sviluppare numerosi festival swing nel mondo. Attraverso orchestre, grandi artisti e centinaia di ballerini,

Swing Crash ha dato un contributo fondamentale alla divulgazione e allo sviluppo dello swing in Italia, tanto come musica quanto come danza, trasformando la città e i suoi spazi in luoghi di incontro, spettacolo e cultura. Swing Crash è diventato un modello capace di ispirare la scena internazionale.

La sua versatilità lo ha portato a collaborare con importanti artisti e realtà dello spettacolo: Roberto Bolle, Renzo Arbore, Ballando con le stelle, Vogue Fashion Night Out a Londra.

Come MC e conduttore, Vincenzo porta sul palco una capacità unica di mettere in relazione artisti, musicisti, ballerini e pubblico. Con energia, ironia, competenza e una profonda conoscenza della cultura swing, conduce show, festival ed eventi trasformandoli in esperienze vive, coinvolgenti e condivise.

Durante il lockdown ha portato questa stessa energia nelle case di migliaia di persone con “Jazz Fatto in Casa”, il progetto di lezioni di Solo Jazz trasmesse dal terrazzo della sua casa romana. Appassionato divulgatore della storia dello swing, nel 2014 ha inoltre scritto la prefazione alla traduzione italiana di Frankie Manning: Ambasciatore dello Swing.

Per Vincenzo, insegnare, danzare, suonare, raccontare e dirigere un festival fanno parte della stessa missione: preservare la cultura swing, farla evolvere e trasmetterla alle nuove generazioni, creando uno spazio in cui ogni persona possa sentirsi parte di qualcosa di più grande.

Vincenzo Fesi is an artist, dancer, teacher, choreographer, MC and artistic director, and one of the most recognized and respected figures on the international jazz and swing scene. Born in Como and adopted by Rome, for over twenty years he has brought swing to stages and dance schools around the world, driven by a clear mission: to help the swing culture grow and pass its spirit on to future generations.

His artistic journey encompasses Lindy Hop, Balboa, Solo Jazz, Tap Dance and other jazz dance styles, and throughout his career he has won numerous national and international titles, including a World Cup, a European Championship and many other international competitions.

Vincenzo performs and teaches at major international festivals, from Melbourne to Paris, London to Seoul.

In Rome, he founded Swing Dream Factory, much more than a dance school: a cultural laboratory dedicated to the daily promotion and preservation of jazz and swing culture.

Over the years, Vincenzo has developed a personal, inclusive and deeply human teaching approach. His method is based on the belief that every dancer is unique: in his classes, nobody is just a number. He works to involve everyone, recognize individual abilities and create an environment where every student can feel part of the community, learn with awareness and develop their own identity as a dancer, from their very first steps to a professional level.

For Vincenzo, teaching is not simply about transmitting technique. It is about creating the conditions for every person to participate, express themselves and bring out their best.

He is the founder and artistic director of Jam Factory, an international festival that has transformed Rome into a global reference point for jazz both danced and played.

He also founded, directed and produced Swing Crash Festival, an event that has profoundly influenced the way numerous swing festivals around the world have been conceived and developed. Bringing together live orchestras, leading artists and hundreds of dancers, Swing Crash made a fundamental contribution to the promotion and development of swing in Italy, both as music and as dance, transforming the city and its public spaces into places of encounter, performance and culture. Swing Crash became a model that inspired the international swing scene.

His versatility has led him to collaborate with major artists and entertainment projects, including Roberto Bolle, Renzo Arbore, Ballando con le Stelle and Vogue Fashion Night Out in London.

As an MC and host, Vincenzo has a unique ability to connect artists, musicians, dancers and audiences. With energy, humor, expertise and a deep knowledge of swing culture, he hosts shows, festivals and events, turning them into lively, engaging and shared experiences.

During lockdown, he brought that same energy into the homes of thousands of people through “Jazz Fatto in Casa”, a Solo Jazz teaching project broadcast live from the terrace of his home in Rome.

A passionate storyteller and promoter of swing history and culture, in 2014 he also wrote the foreword to the Italian translation of Frankie Manning: Ambassador of Swing.

For Vincenzo, teaching, dancing, playing music, storytelling and directing festivals are all part of the same mission: to preserve swing culture, help it evolve and pass it on to future generations, while creating a space where everyone can feel part of something greater.
